Winnipeg meets Flin Flon

Picking up from where Mhari left us off, at the end of our uneventful drive. Apparently unless you are connected to the Flin Flon ski team you don't actually know where the ski club is. But we did manage to find it without too much difficulty (there was no question whether we were in the right city this time). As soon as we stepped out of the van, we were greeted by this amazing network of trails right in the city. It wasn't long before we were on our skis and out exploring, explaining to our host team our unfortunate hill situation, being as we train on a golf course. Just before we ate dinner, Chris took command of the room and made the usual speech of thank yous and what not, and then came a moment of shame for the RRN athletes. We were all forced to pretend to be gorillas and wander around the room screaming.
Okay, maybe not. Though we did play a game called evolution, and it was a very odd game, but it certainly did the job of breaking the ice.
Another new piece of knowledge: Shark Attack does not exist in Flin Flon! We quickly fixed that, and then continued on to do some hill technique and agility courses. Then suddenly, Chris disappeared. It was minutes later that he reappeared out of total darkness with a flash of neon light!
The night ski had begun. Chris handed out glow sticks and glowing headbands for us to sport for our final ski of the night. It was a great ski, and a great way to end the day. And now we are all tucked in at our billets, gratefully climbing into bed after a long day. Which reminds me, I'm really tired.

Until tomorrow, Emily.
